Fishing’s Better With a Crew

Since 1972, the Milwaukee Great Lakes Sport Fishermen have been swapping what works, teaching kids to fish, and standing up for the Lake Michigan fishery. For $20 a year, you and your immediate family are part of it.

What You’re Joining

More Than a Membership Card

Dues are the small part. The people are the point.

A Room Full of People Who Get It

Monthly meetings with speakers from the DNR, the charter fleet, and the tackle bench. Mostly, though, it’s anglers telling each other what’s working and what isn’t.

Time on the Water Together

Club fish-ins with a scoreboard, a season-long fishing contest with cash on the line, and the Brew City Salmon Tournament every summer.

Teaching the Next Generation

Members run kids’ fishing clinics every spring. Bring a kid, or lend a hand and bait a few hooks.

A Voice for the Fishery

The club works with the DNR on stocking, with Milwaukee County Parks on the fish cleaning stations, and speaks up when sport anglers need an advocate.

Fish That Feed Milwaukee

Club donation freezers and the Brew City weigh-in turn extra catch into meals. This year that meant 2,080 pounds of fillets for Hunger Task Force.

The Tightline and More

A monthly newsletter with reports, results, and club news, plus the Spring Seminar and the annual awards party.

Try Us First

Come to a Meeting, No Strings Attached

Meetings are open to the public: the second Tuesday of the month, September through May, 7 p.m., at Joe’s K Ranch, 4840 S Whitnall Ave, Cudahy. Pull up a chair, hear the speaker, and decide if we’re your kind of people. Somebody will tell you where the fish were last week, give or take a few miles.
